Polly Gavins, the founder and managing director of Acorn Business Consulting, began her career as a lawyer before moving into business. Starting as a sales representative with a kitchenware company, she rapidly moved up the corporate ladder until she became Managing Director of the company. When the company was sold turnover had increased by 300% and profits by considerably more. After selling the kitchenware company, Polly moved into leadership and management development, becoming an accredited facilitator and coach with Franklin Covey. She has worked with companies such as Virgin, Warner Bros, Readers Digest and GlaxoSmithKline. Polly is a graduate of leading corporate coach training organisation, CoachU, and is a licensed facilitator of their coaching skills training programme. Clients say of Polly that she is practical and results focused, that she walks her talk, and that she knows it's not always easy.
